Picture 2 of 13 from Album Lakeside Speedway by Rick Wasilko (R.I.P.)
Standing on the back straight away just as it turns into turn 3. Looking at the turn 3 & 4 grandstands. The stands all the way to the left in this photo are the original stands built at Lakeside when it was a baseball diamond. The 'Band Box' is also visible in this shot. This is where the National Anthem record was played every night before the races started. When a rain shower would move through the area and halt the events for a time when the track was being dried the guys up in the 'Band Box' would play records to help the time pass and entertain the crowd... ~Rick
