Don Wilsons #1 Hamms Late Model

Don Wilson built and drove some of the finest equipment in or out of Colorado. This car, sponsored by Hamms Beer was no exception to that rule. This was probably one of the first "Heroe Cards" that I had seen. Don gave me this while I was lettering (what could have been the same car) his black #1 Camaro in about 1979. This picture was shot at Colorados Englewood Speedway. If anyone knows whos beautiful #07 car that is resting on the hauler to the right in this photo, please post. I thought that it was Pick Pickerings, but I cannot remember.

I noticed they listed Don as one of the Metropolitan Champs in this pic. Funny how when asked about it in '92 (see this weeks Two Minute Intvw.), he remembered Pete Stringer winning a couple, but didn't rememember his own!
Of course, when you've won as many races as Don has, you're bound to forget a few.

If I'm not mistaken, the #07 in the background was driven by Randy Pickering. I'll check again when I'm near my race stuff. If I'm wrong I'll edit my post with the correct info.
