This picture, from the Rick Losh collection, was shot from the open (or non-covered) grandstand on the west side of Colorados Lakeside Speedway.

The year is 1985 and this nights racing action starts with a little refueling of some of the pit crew members. In the middle of this photo, you can see a congregation of people at the concession stand, located on the west side of the pits. Can you still smell the hot dogs? Just below the hungry herd, sits the #3 modified of Skip Mikula, the #77 sportsman of Jim Brown (this years champion), Rick Losh's #95 sportsman and finally the #25 pure stocker of Rick Quizard. The #29 pure stocker to the left of the concession stand belongs to Burt Smith. Out in the parking lot, you can see John Pachellos old reliable Ford pickup waiting to escort Rick Carellis #6 modified back home.

In front of the #95 car, Rick Losh, Doug Dreith and Jack Ficco discuss this nights strategy.
