The Bob Robertson owned #52 Chevrolet Monte Carlo sits in the middle of the figure 8 "X" at Colorados Englewood Speedway. This car was driven by Bobs brother, Odie Robertson. Odie, at this time frame, had just arrived from California where he had raced stock cars of various types including the convertible late models which were famous at Craig Road Speedway in Las Vegas. This car was being prepared for the Grand National road race at Riverside CA's course. This was the very first Grand Natl. car that I had the opportunity to letter. It was cool stuff.
Somewhere out there, there is a photo of this car at Riverside, and Dale Earnhardt is standing behind it watching the crew perform their pit stop. If you know the where abouts of this picture, please have it posted. Thanks.

Odie Robertson ran at Cajon Speedway near San Diego when it was still dirt (pre-1966) and the first few years after it was paved. Didn't win a lot of mains, but was always competitive.
He moved on to the So Cal NASCAR Late Model Sportsman circuit (Orange Show, San Gabriel Valley Speedway and Ascot) driving for Sam Sampson. Sam died in an auto accident and before too much longer, Odie moved to Denver.
A bit of interchange between Denver and San Diego during that era - Bill Butts and Odie Robertson went from San Diego to Denver and R.C. Owens from Denver to San Diego.
And, I remember seeing the #52 Monte Carlo in that race at Riverside.

I remember seeing Odie win the fall classic at Black Hills Speedway in 1975 driving the OLY (Olympia) white and gold Monte Carlo. He had a flat tire at the beginning and came all the way from the back to the front to win. I believe If my memory serves me, he was smoking badly when he crossed the finish line from a head gasket failure. It was some show that night. I sat just off turn 4.
