View Full Version : Englewood Speedway promo flyers

For several seasons Englewood Speedway sent out these neat tri-fold mailers, some were 7.25" x 10", some were 8.5" x11". I kept almost everyone sent to our house, a great look into the past. The mailers had upcoming races and current point standings, and other promotional information. I remember really looking forward to getting those in the mail. Anyone else remember these flyers?

Hmmmm....I remember in about '71 & '72 the speedway mailed out the ENGLEWOOD SPEEDWAY NEWS, which was a 11" x 17" sheet folded in half to make a cool 4 page newsletter. I wonder if those flyers were kind of an off-shoot of that? I have a couple of the E.S.N.'s, but never seen these cool flyers you have. And I worked there through the '70s!:)

I've been slacking lately, thought I would revive this thread, and scan and post a few of these flyers. This one from the 1974 season.

Since I last posted that comment, I found the mailers I had, and indeed, they are the same kind of ones you have here. I haven't seen these though!

Wow! What a great idea. Didn't know about those, but wish I'd have somehow gotten them or that other local tracks would have done the same thing. Great addition to a collection of stuff from the past.

Here ya' go Jerry Lee, a few more. Why do you think they used a midget photo from Lakeside Speedway to advertise the USAC show? You gotta' love the Englewood guys dressed up like gangsters, good sports. Not sure what my dad was figuring on that one flyer, some sort of calculation.
