Does not ring a bell, Johnny Parsons Jr. won it in 83' in Ron Weeks, Stanton with a Cosworth, but it was red #71. Post the photo, I'm curious!

...'At first glance, I'd say a driver that needs no introduction to winning BIG midget, sprint car or silver crown races and that's the 'Rim Rider,' Chuck Gurney from Livermore, CA. 'Obviously, you're referring to Larry Howard Racing (LHR)??? The pic you've posted looks like the Ellis chassis with the Fontana-Aries, Chevy II-type engine that Chuck and the LHR team used to win the 1988 & 1989 USAC Turkey Night Grand Prix race as well as the 1989 Belleville Midget Nationals.

You may both be partially right, in 1989 the Chuck Gurney, LHR car, was black ( I was not there that year, the only one I missed between 1978 and 1996)photo's of that year show a black car. This may have been 1990 or 91, I was there in '90 when Jeff Gordon lapped everyone but 2nd place Steve Knepper. Seems to me this may have been the car Gurney was in in 1990, but I can't say for sure. Just looked at my 1990 Turkey Night program, sure enough they have a color shot of the previous years winner (1998 Chuck Gurney in the LHR #71, and it's black) on the cover.
