From Archie Johnstons great collection, here is a photo of legendary driver Fritz Wilson, herding the #16 Challenger on the asphalt at Colorados Century 21 Speedway. Racing Associates owned this car and a few others. The Associates had a shop located near Century 21, and maintained and stored stock cars belonging to other teams as well as their own. Correct me if I am wrong. I believe the owner of Racing Assoc's was Jim Rice. The Assoc's other cars were a Chevelle and a Torino. All were painted in a red, white and blue scheme. Other Colorado favorites to drive their cars were Joe Lehman and Butch Speicher. These cars were well maintained and would go on to win many races, but I do not think that there was enough consistancy in their system to ever bring home a championship. Again, correct me please if I have given any wrong information.

My great friend Archie Johnston hand lettered most of the Assoc's cars. They made an awesome sight when they would enter the pits on race day.

I really liked those old late models, you could identify the cars, Torino's, Fairlanes, Chevelle's, Challengers, Nova's, even a Corvair. Big slick's sticking out of the wheel wells, man they were cool. Then they all turned into 1974 Camero's, bummer.
