hi im jim babcock it was about 1967 and greg higgins & I were doing good at the F8's in fact we had beat our own quick time qualifing rocord 2 times I was the wrench &greg was the skill that burned up the track 3 weeks til the end of the season greg turned a 21.05 [3rd time new rec] but benny [skunky] garcia turned 21.01 so that ment theford pickup in front of his house with the ft end up on blocks didnt have a motor with pop up .060 over bored and stroker kit but his race car did and he timed in to fast and would have to pull the head after the races and that was a problem for him but did to except we wern't cheating ben wined moand and cryed and then he resigned from the era culb spitting and cussing that doesn't end the story it was late we pulled the -got aproved tow ed over to my dads skelly sat nite we had to race sun nite too by now it 3 am go home and plan to meet about 2 pm sun after noon and get the car back togeather well guess what my dad come down snday morning sees the car all apart uses the old head gasket and his new impact 1/2 dr. and zaps it back togeather fills it up with reg gas hooks it up to the tow trkand when we get therehes so happy to tell us were ready to go and we start to prey
