In the first photo, Rick Losh slides under Gary Ball driving the #27 Street Car. This was photographed in 1982, in the south corner of Colorados Lakeside Speedway. In the next photo, Rick "Hams it Up" after he rams the south wall. I cannot remember which driver it was, but all night, I was being bumped and shoved until he finally spun me out in the corner. I was fuming mad, and after I got the engine restarted, I decided to ambush this driver when he got back to the south end of the track. I waited, and when I thought he was in position, I flat footed my Chevrolet. The problem with my procedure was that I gave him too much time to react, and he simply jammed his brakes. I proceeded past him in a fury.....and right into the wall. My car was destroyed as was my ego. So, the picture tells it all...Sorta like sayin "Well, here I am....and just look what I have accomplished tonight!! Live and learn.

It is funny now, but I'll bet it took awhile for the humor to set in. Great photo's.

Mitch if you were there as that picture was shot shortly after the crash, it just brought out Rick's true personality. I have a photo copy of that shot in my photo album that Rick gave me. I feel that Rick could have really been a great driver if he had stayed racing, not to say that he was not good as he was very successful in the short career that he had driving.
Rick is so talented as many of us know. Rick created many beautiful racecars out of rather plain cars, but it is his sense of humer and great personality that makes people attracted to him, Rick is just plain fun to be around.
Thanks to Rick and many other great sign painters who gave me such great looking racecars.
