This picture was takin in 1959 in the pits at lakeside speedway. My dad bought this car from Don Wilson in 1958. Not to many shots of this car around anymore. My mother did the lettering. It was bright red.
My dad also drove for Bob Mcdowell the year before Thomsik too it over the fence in 1964 in the Banner auto parts #14. He also drove Don Thurmans car I dont know the year but I think it was 1965. He was hurt in that car when the throttle hung open and hit the south wall head on.

Hi Tim, Your Dad's car was a really sharp car. There's something about '32 Ford 3-windows, they are just cool as a race car. The headers were pretty cool as well, I bet they must have barked. Is your mother an artist? The lettering on the car is beautiful. Did she letter any other cars? Thanks for posting such a cool photo.

Chris, Nope my mom is not an artist. This is the only car she ever lettered.
My dad is pretty much deaf. He says its from the korean war, but us racers know better than that LOL Thanks for the comments TIM

Tim, ask and you shall receive. Here's a photo of your dad's car that I got from George and Dolly Sykora many years ago. George was a car owner and Dolly a member of the Powder Puff Club which is what this photo represents. Unfortunately the #50 isn't listed in the Powder Puff lineup in the '59 program so I can't ID the driver shown nor the gentleman making the trophy presentation. Interesting to learn that this car was formerly the #141. Any idea what became of it after your dad had it?

Parrott, this picture who I sent to my mom this morning says that this was the 1st night out for the 50 car and this shot was from the B-dash. My mom cant remember anyone from the powderpuff driving this car.
Looking closer at this picture my mom and dad still have this trophy.
My dad is on the mend from triple bypass this past March. Just got off the phone with my mother. She says that Dad totaled the car in Colorado Springs and sold it back to Don Wilson, what was left of it .
She says the brought it home in the back of a pick up truck, and says they picked it up with a broom and a dust pan.
This was dads first car as an owner, driver and the only one he owned. TIM
