I'm a sucker for high quality old color racing photo's. Here's a couple great ones from the eastern US.

Another AAA sprint car race, Oct. 20, 1957 again at Williams Grove, PA Rex Records is on the pole in Bud Sherck's #5 Offy, Al Herman outside in #12 the Frank Curtis "Rosemont Spl". #33 is Joe Barzda in a Kurtis Kraft midget, stretched into a sprint car, with a small block chevy V8 in it! Barzda ran a speed shop in New Jersey named "California Speed Speed & Sport" when he first ran his stretched midget as a sprinter, he had a blown flathead Ford V8 in it, cool eh?

Wasn't that a Joe Fiore restoration? I love that photo and the car is beautiful. Tell the ARM folks the story on your #2 car, that machine is also fantastic.

Mitch.. I appreciate the compliment on the # 2 but Joe did not do the restoration, I did. Joe did give me much encouragement and advice as the restoration proceeded. He is quite a craftsman and a good friend.

Sorry to confuse you with my post, I was asking if the RZ #42 was restored by Fiore. I admire all you guys that do those fantastic restorations. I've seen your car on the HAMB, it's wonderful, I didn't know you had done the #2 car, your work speaks for itself, excellent!

Mitch; I beleive the RZ car was originally restored by Lynn Paxton. Joe purchased the car to replace the John Lynch Hillegass # 66 he had restored and sold to someone in the midwest. He then sold the 42 to make room for the Wally Meskowski Wynn's # 1 he restored this summer.

Hello...I would just like to add a few corrections regarding the #42 RZ Special.

I acquired the car from Ed Demmy in Butler, Pa approx 22 years ago. It was campaigned on the USAC circuit for many years prior to his ownership and then raced in Western Pennsylvania as a winged gaged sprint car driven mostly by Eddie Murphy. After I bought the car I took it to Ron and Floyd Trevis(original builders) for a total restoration. After several years on display in my garage(I never ran it), I sold the car to Don Brandt in Pittsburgh who, after many years using it as a coffee table, sold it to Joe Fiore. Joe would have been duly qualified to do the restoration, but he was just another lucky owner. Don also never ran the car and Joe decided to run the car. The engine was built by an Ohio sprint car driver named Jeff Schrum. I just wanted to set the record straight. I hope you guys have a happy and safe holiday period.
