From the Ethel "Pucky" Higdon (Kouba) collection. Autographed hand tinted portrait of Forest Fishor, 1946. Please post any background/biography you have on Forest. I remember Mom & Dad talking about him, along with many of the other early Denver midget guys, but don't know much beyond that.
To Forest Fishor: Best Wishes and Thanks.

I'll post what I gathered up from Bill Hill's great book "Decades of Daring"

In the former Miles Spickler #3, at Pikes Peak Speedway in 1948
Fisher drove Bob VanBuskirk's Kurtis, for a short while in 1947. Noted that he jumped the guardrail at Lakeside Speedway in 1946, and punched a hole in the wooden fence surrounding the track, without injury. He owned a track roadster and Howard Wolfe drove it at Brighton Speedway in 1947. He was the president of Colorado Midget Racing Association (CMRA) a stock block (non Offy) club, in 1947 and 48'.

That is cool Mitch, I enjoy looking at those old programs.I noticed that they haven't added a digit after the exchange name yet, so they must have started that in the early 50's.~Olen

This is a great old thread I had forgotten about.
I don't remember where I had heard this story (possibly from talking to the late Bob Hartman), but someone once told me that Forrest Fisher used to drive his Midget racer back and forth from his old Gulf station on 32nd & Speer to and from Lakeside Speedway on race days. And I think I remember they had said that he would just leave the car parked out by the gas station over night after the races. Of course, it was a whole different time back in the '40's, you could get away with that type of thing.
