Earl drove Ray Koch's Big Cars often in the BCRA days. Here is a shot fo Earl in the #46 255 Offy going up the Peak in 1958 and a shot of Earl at Pueblo in Ray's stretched midget with a 110 Offy Blower in 1959. Earl also drove this car up the Peak in 59. Photos from the Earl & Ethel Kouba collection. Leroy Byers photo credit for the Pueblo shot.

Jimmy, isn't that #46 sprinter a Bob Pankratz built car?

Just ran across this photo in "Decades of Daring". That's the Pankratz sprinter with Earl Kouba facing camera, talking to Warren Hamilton. Fred Fernung, with back to camera is looking at the other Ray Koch sprint car, this is Pueblo, Colo State Farigrounds, 1960 for a Big Car Racing Assoc. (BCRA) race meet.

sure look like the same cars to me... Joe could verify. I believe that Warren was the person that strectched the midget that became Koch's #37.

The #37 Kock Big car was actually streched by loyd Axel. The #46 Pankratz built car had a 220 offy. As you said Jimmy the 37 had a "big" 110 midget engine. A 4" stroke crank. and a 671 Gimmy blower hangen on it . That old gril really screemed down the chutes at Pueblo. Dad won the first ever BCRA race at a Arapahoe Co. in that car. Warrern Hamelton streched the #6 Felt midget in 1959. Jimmy post Warrens sprinter, that is the midget Pastor drove he streched.
