I loved that car. I think I saw him get upside down pretty hard at Lakeside one night. I think he slide upside down for a long distance. I was really little maybe Mitch can fill in my memory.

This is a nice shot from Mom's album with autograph by Grier on top. (Forgot, 1963 at Lakeside)

A beautiful car, always first class, and from what I've heard Greer is a first class guy too. As I recall Greer was in a fight for the lead in the main event, maybe 4th or so in a group of cars going down the back chute at Lakeside Speedway. As they approach the 3rd turn someone loses a radiator hose, spilling water on the pavement. A couple cars slow up and go around the water, this is all happening in micro seconds, and Greer hits the water which at Lakeside is just like ice, slides through the water full speed into the turn 3 wall head on. The car slams the wall and Greer does maybe 2 pretty quick snap rolls up by the guardrail between turns 3 and 4. I can't remember for sure if he car landed upside down or on it's wheels this was probably 1970 or 71' and was one of the last midget flips performed without a roll cage! I know Greer quit driving midgets shortly after roll cages became mandatory, I don't think he drove under a cage. It's weird, I can remember most of the incident like it was yesterday, but I can't remember who blew the radiator, or if the #42 car landed on it's wheels or not, just too long ago.
