Does anyone remember John Hollansworth (Colorado Springs, CO) from the '50s at Englewood Speedway and the '60s at Lakeside Speedway? Apparently, John and Grier Manning were pretty good friends. Check out this excellent article about John, complete with photos. ~VB

John was a great driver as I remember. He did not surface in Denver untill 60 or 61 i beleive. We left in 65 so I haven't any knowledge how long he was there after that.

I remember John Hollansworth... well all the stories. I wasnt even born when John Hollansworth, Grier Manning, Eddie Jackson and Spyder Anderson were winning races, but heard all about it from my uncle, Buck Shaver
Thanks for the 'memories'

John's son was fastest rookie in 1999 Indy 500 qualifying and drove a good race en route to a 13th place finish. I did a bit of PR work for TeamXtreme and one of the major benefits was the opportunity to meet and talk with John Sr. at some length. As luck would have it I had in my collection a Phoenix race program from when John ran a champ car there. I traded the program to John Jr. for a pair of his race-worn racing gloves.
