From the Roy Jackson collection, here is a shot of Pick Pickering recieving some hardware after winning a race at Colorados Lakeside Speedway. I loved the Chevy Late Models from this era. Picks were exceptionally nice.Pick was one of the owners of Phillips and Anderson tire co., located off Speer and Zuni.

Thanks, superstroke! You know how much I dig these older Chevy late-models like Pick's. This photo demonstrates how the Lakeside & Englewood guys were already starting to migrate toward a lower center of gravity chassis/body and the use of torsion-bars and more sophisticated chassis parts. I really disliked the rear-steer set up on our old 55-Chevy race cars; but short of going to a newer 3/4 ton truck-chassis, we were pretty much stuck with having to deal with it for years. Thanks again for sharing! ~VB
