Hey Tim, those are really neat. Is that first one a life size model, or is it the way the picture was taken? It looks like a real midget with a model driver!!

Yeah, neat stuff Tim. The pic of the Midget looks like it's just sitting there in the driveway of someone's house. Upon enlarging it, it's only then that I realize it's sitting on a table! I loved building model cars, I probably have about 75 Figure Eighters that I built long ago down in storage somewhere. Thanks for sharing.

Cool models Tim, I dig the white #3 late model. Great work, I haven't built models in a long time. Used to enjoy doing it. Just don't have the maual dexterity any more. If you have more have I hope you'll share them.

Thanks for the comments guys , The midget in the 1st pick is a 1/18 scale that I picked up at a swap meet a couple years ago.It was a GMP kit that they dont make anymore. The roll bars are hand made from coat hanger wire. The second car is a 64 ford Galaxy. The roll bars are from a early NASCAR kit, but if you look at the wheels they are spun aluminum turned on my lathe. YesI have a small machine shop in my basement.

And don't let your sister pick them up because she always tore off a bumper or a wheel... But she was kind enough to give you a piece of her material to make seat covers. Then the fringe was missing off my doll blanket! You guys sure had fun while 'sisters' got high on the smell of the glue. Yes, my brother was big into models, too.

Hey, Olen! I'm happy that the video you picked was only a POS Jeep-heap model and not a vintage race car. ~VB

Where is the best place to get a kit of a 32 ford 5 window, I really want to build a replica of my dads car or cars!

Do an ebay search for a AMT 1932 Ford Coupe. They go from 5.00 to $25, deepending on the auction item, plus shipping.

The new Revell 1932 Ford coupe is a good kit but lacks a stock spring style set-up, and has a several hi-po parts.

You'll different need wheels from what the kits have, and possibly a 1951 Chevy to rework the Chey six into a Ford six, unless you want to build a flathead V-8, deepending how deatailed you want to build a copy of your dad's car.

If you run into a problem, let me know.

Thomas, are the early sixties Falcon or Comet models still available or re-introduced? That's where I got my Ford 6, but many many years ago. Lots of chrome, even the block was chromed. Then again, does that six look right?

Bill: You can get just the straight-6 Ford engines as a resin-cast aftermarket item on the internet. Ken Kitchen (Kitchen Table Resins) in Colorado Springs has several, as does Don Loomis (eBay id: sandel7 or you can contact him directly at escort500xl@yahoo.com). They're kind of expensive; about $15.00 per engine, but at least you can find them. I've been using them in my latest CARC oldie models. Wait till you see the #7 I'm building for Al Starr's induction to the CARC Hall of Fame at the 2009 banquet! I have also found 1/25 scale Model A coupe bodies as resin-cast on the internet, too. They're about $17.00 each plus shipping. :banana:The Monogram 1930 Model A coupe kit is being rereleased this month, too, but they are 1/24 scale. Slight difference in size. Paul

Don: I have a few extra AMT '32 cars that have been built but I took them apart and soaked the bodies in brake fluid for a few days to remove the paint. Contact me if you would like one of those. I could build one for you, too. I would just need help with graphics. My models aren't as detailed or perfect as Tim's, but from the top they usually look okay. Check mine out on the Paul's Model Racing Cars thread. Paul

I think the (AMT) Ford Falcon Ranchero has been re-released. I have seen the 60's Falcon and Comet on ebay, but they are pricey.

BTW - The AMT Ford Falcon 6 is what I used to build a scale copy of Dave Bartlett's #15 Falcon poered midget.

carc7, thanks for the information on the Ford in-line six.

When I use the Monogram '30 'A' body, I use the AMT '34 Ford pick-up frame, and changed the X center member to a single ladder member like the '32 Ford. The '34 Ford pick-up compensates for the slight scale size change in relationship of 24th to 25th.

Here a couple kits that were realeased using AMT's '32 Ford 5-window coupe, and '32 Ford Victoria.

I believe they are out-of-production. But can found on ebay once in a while. Most are $20 or more.

BE MINDFUL, these two kits DO NOT have all the extra needed parts to build the car pictured on the box top, they are the original basic kits with new box art. THERE IS however extra instructions for building a jalopy stock car, a list of the extra parts needed and the url's for the websites to contact for the extra parts, wheels and a few other parts.

AMT's '32 Ford Coupe and '32 Ford Victoria. Licensed to DIRTRACK RACECARS by AMT.

Tim, guys thanks for the help. I am going to order a couple kits and give it a shot. It's been like 25 years since I built a model. Tim, just curious how much would you charge to build one. I can do all the graphics I have a vinyl machine.

Donny

Donny, that third generation of the Nova was from 1968 through 1974. Other than that, it would be hard to specifically nail it down based on that photo, but, for the most part, they all looked pretty much alike during those years anyway, except for the foor door.
