I've read Mr. Guttormson's great bio and profile so many times and this one photo kept coming back to me that I thought I would try to color it. I too was in the Korean War, but as an Air Force Weather man, stationed in the Panama Canal Zone. Most members know that John is the dad of Eric(our Webby) and Mitch G (our Professor Midget). For the one's who missed John Guttormson's Bio, written by Bill Peratt and posted by Webby just click HERE.

Hey, great job! That really brings the photo to life. Good ol' pop... a commie's worst nightmare. :) The other night at CNS there was a young kid who is a huge race fan and he had just got back from fighting in Iraq. I'm so thankful that there are young men willing to defend our freedom to hang out at the race track. God bless 'em!

Now that's a great color shot. In those days it was a rarity to get color film. I had a Nikon S2 camera and I bought B&W film by the bulk, then I would develop my own film and prints in the base hobby shop. When I did get some color film, it had to be shipped back to the States to get the prints and then sent back to us. Oh, what we could have done with a digital camera over there.~Olen

Thanks to all that have served our country, for they are truly the American Heroes.

I've said often that I wouldn't take a million dollars for my time in the USAF, but I wouldn't give a dime to go back. Now I'm not so sure I wouldn't go back for nothing.

Yeah Big John, if they could find a place for us again,I'd go back in a minute. I still miss the smell of those old fax machines burning out a weather map for me.~Olen
