Happy To Be Here,
My name is Al, 62 years young, and I've been a race fan, stooge, car owner and now back to being a spectator since my first auto race in June, 1963 at the USAC "Big Car Race" at the Milwaukee Mile. Attended all but one race there thru 1968 until Uncle Sam called. Was relocated to Wichita Falls, TX and after my hitch was completed decided to call this home for the last 40 years.
Got involved with a local supermodified racer and stooged for him from 72 thru 75 locally and on the NCRA circuit. In the late 80's owned and wrenched a minisprint through 1996. Ran in SW Oklahoma. I enjoy all types of racing but am partial to open wheel, dirt or paved.
Over the years I have been privilaged to watch what I consider to be some of the finest competitors ever to strap in a racecar whether it was USAC, NCRA or Minisprints.
My favorite time period and the one I'm most familiar with, history wise is the 60's through the 70's into early 80's.
NASCAR and USAC stock cars of the 60's are also favorites.
I'm looking forward to discussing racing with you. Thanks for bringing me on-board !
