I'm Dave Kohler and my Mother was an avid Lakeside midget fan in the 40's. The love of midgets was passed on to me. I was in the grandstands when Joe Giba won the main in his Johnson V4 outboard. I have a collection of programs and photos I would like to share.

dkrails, we've got some of the best Lakeside Midget historians around, on this very site. You've probably seen some of the posts from Joe and Jimmy Kouba, those guys are truly amazing, as well as the great ThomasE, and others. Welcome, can't wait to see some of your stuff!!

Hey dkrails, welcome to ARM's house of fun! :checker:

I was there as well when Joe won that main event, several in pits said that the hot dogs let Joe win, they answered, no way, they couldn't get around him.

I think things were just right for Joe's #62 V-4 Johnson outboard powered car, the set-up, the weather, the track and the Joe Giba secret smoke screen. Remember how #62 smoked.

Joe was one of the good guys, quiet, patient and a good friend, and what a car . . . slow, fast, so-so, it didn't matter, it was Joe Giba in #62 :checker:

Well, hey, I ramble, not like a Nash Rambler though . . .

Again, welcome.
