Hi All. I just found this site and am excited to review the content. I'm retired and come from a distant race family. My great uncle owned a Indy 500 winner. I only raced at the drags and some dunebuggies. I now just travel to races and shows. I'm glad to be here.

Hey Bruce, Nomads are known to travel a lot, so you should have a lot of stuff from your travels. As one of the old men of the site, I have to leave the traveling to you youngsters.~Olen :cowboy:

Sorry, I am late in replying to all of your nice welcomes.
I will post updates of my adventures. I do have a few photos of my experiences at Hot August Nights and Bonneville www.brucethenomad.com/tahoe2.html Olen, you need to see the photo of a 70-'s plus 200mph biker.

My great uncle, George Salih, was a real hot rodder and racer. He built more tan drive the race cars. His car won the Indy 500 in '57 and '58 and placed OK in '59 & '60.

Now I'll check out more of this great site.

Hey Bruce,

I see Tahoe in your domain, are you a Northern Calif resident? I'm Newcastle, CA just outside of Sacramento. Could be neighbors 100 miles!!!!

Hey Bruce, seems to be an error in that url. That is one neat Nomad motor home on your site. If anyone wants to see it click on Bruce's Motor Home. (http://www.brucethenomad.com/)

George Salih's #9/#1 lay down roadster is my absolute favorite of all the Indy roadster; second is the 1955 Indy "Pink Bath Tub" John Zink Special; second, though not a roadster is the #3 Bardahl Special that Sam Hanks drove in 1953.

And Sam Hanks is my all time favorite driver. I watched Sam when I was a kid race midgets in Washington and California, and twice in the AAA Championship Trail, at Centennial Horse Track in Denver Colorado in 1951 and 1952.

I was making reference to some of the cool cars I saw in Reno and Bonneville. Thanks for the compliment of the motorhome. That is just a rendering as I haven't rented all of the available space yet. Then I will have the wrap designed and installed.

Quick Time - I spent the past summer in Tahoe. I'm in Tucson right now. I plan to hit the road in March and attend Nostalgia Drags in Bakersfield, a few car shows and races in Cal before I head east.

Thomas E - You know the car. Thos others are pretty cool too. I was at Indy Museum in '08 and enjoyed the diorama with the #9 car in it. Photo attached.
