Here are three racing card photos of the late Dick Baty. These were part of Rick Wasilkos collection. According to the back of the cards, Mr. Baty was involved with at least three modifieds while racing with the Rocky Mountain Stock Car Racing Association (R.M.S.C.R.A.) at Colorados Englewood Speedway during the 1964 season. The #44 was owned by Johnnie Carlson and was the first car Dick would drive. Later, during the same year, Dick built the #88 '34' Ford 6 cyl. powered modified stocker. Dick was also known to have piloted a drag car at Continental Divide Raceway. The only information on his drag car is that it was a 'GMC powered car of some sort'.

I want to thank Dave Burn, Bruce Rhoades and Craig Cooley for their help in preserving Rick Wasilkos vast collection of racing memorabilia. It would have gone to the dump had it not been for these individuals.

Since my family ran with fenders, I don't remember seeing Dick race, but I grew up with Rick and hungout at the shop during the summer. Growing up Dick & Ann were like another Mom & Dad. I love the Batys. Dick will be missed.

See you at the gathering saturday.

What a great page.I watched Dick Baty in the heyday of Englewood. Great cars, and one heck of a driver (see track records). Classy guy.
