At what point does a certain type of race car, lose it's identity. I know we can't go back in time, or mandate that race clubs rule on what a car is supposed to look like (although they should). Wedge hoods were bad, down bars were worse, but now look at this car, and tell me what is the point. Sure it's modern technology, design, safety, blah, blah, blah, but what the hell is it? I'm sorry but for me auto racing will always be related to craftsmanship, style, and being able to recognize a race car for what type it is, midget, sprint car, modified, late model, etc. So tell me, why should I go and spend my hard earned $ to watch a pile of tubes like this, run around a race track, especially when it's supposed to be a midget? Man do I long for the old days.

Oh man... that looks like the twisted bastard child of a dragster and a dune buggy.
I realize that the the Chili Bowl is the place where guys like to "shock the world" with these crazy engineering designs but to what end?
I guess the only positive is.... a ugly looking thing like that can actually make a "regular" modern day midget look good.

Money......Greed! In todays world, the more advertising you can stick on whatever...the better!! It looks to me that they are making more body panels...not for safety or speed, but for more advertisements. That dome looking piece looks like it would damn air up instead of it flowing through the cage.....but what do I know.....nothing!

Good point Rick, that top piece on the cage is completely useless, in fact in could be a hazard. All the flat panels looks like the guy designed it with advertising in mind, lots of room for stickers.

The companies name is ZERO Motorsports which is fitting because if midgets start looking like that piece of crap that's exactly what I will be watching: zero motorsports.

That is Johnny Murdock's midget he will be competing in at the Chili Bowl this year. I agree, that thing is Butt ugly and makes no sense to the panels on the top. Oh well, Johnny always comes up with something out of this world. He goes out and runs what he brung...
