Buzz, This is a great article about one of the most dedicated racers I've ever had the fortune to know. Clarence has some of the best stories and can he ever tell them, you don't want to miss a word.

Any racer thats maintains perfect attendance at Cheyenne and Lakeside for years with more than one car, should be respected and applauded. I'm very lucky to have purchased cars from him and lucky to still have one.

When this article came out we special ordered the Greeley paper. It's a keepsake now.

Thanks Buzz, Clarence was always one of my favorites, he was one of the most colorful drivers at any race track, I always loved those old Chevy bodied Mods.

very good article on ol'e tiger quite the racer he was,I remember him hot lapping with a lit cigar in his mouth the end of it would be cherry red from the wind blowing on it, I never did find out if he ever got any hot sparkes in his eyes while doing so? and did he really swollow his false teeth in the bad wreck when he jumped the guard rail just before the pit exit? that wreck was one of the worse i had ever seen at lakeside any one out there got a picture of that to post? I lost mine, keep on truckin Clarence!!!

I was told by Bob Brown that Clarence was one of the strongest men he'd ever been around and that Clarence would sometimes punch you in the chest just cus he liked you....well, he musta liked me...one night at Lakeside, he punched me in the chest, and I have not breathed the same since....like being kicked by a mule.

I just thought everyone should know that "Tiger" was inducted into the CARC Hall of Fame on 10/30 and the WARC Hall of Fame on 11/13, this must have been a great couple of weeks for one of the all time greats from around these parts.
