I remember the first time watching the figure 8 races at Englewood Speedway in Colorado. I thought that those guys were either crazy or they just wanted to commit suicide. It might have been a little of each with some of the drivers, and I'm thinking at the time that this type of racing would soon be outlawed around the country. But, at that time, it was cheap enough to get a car ready and there seem to be no end of those type of thrill seekers. As a result of the growth of fans that kept turning out to those events, figure 8 racing just kept growing and now it's around the nation coast to coast.
For all you younger drivers that are thinking about getting into the figure 8 racing business, my hats off to you, but you might want to see a compilation of figure 8 crashes, old and new.
