Here are some photos of Colorados Englewood Speedway. Englewood was a 3/8ths mile asphalt oval that also sported a fast figure 8 track as well. It was located at Oxford and Federal blvd, in the southern part of Denver. These photos were taken by John Verhoeff, a insurance broker who was a constant sponsor of any race car that Wayne Stallsworth drove. He was also a great photographer and he took shots at every venue that he visited. In these beautiful photos, Englewood Speedways figure 8 track, Lake Codner (as it was known to the locals), a rather large body of water that would gather in the infield and would sometimes be the spot where drivers would find themselves should they wander from the safe and secure surface of the paved oval, our majestic Rocky Mountains and the Aid Ambulance are featured. Also, in the last photo, Wayne Stallsworth (in the #72 John Parks owned Monte Carlo) battles Bobby Jackson in the #27 Torino, which I believe at this time was owned and prepaired by the Racing Associates Team. At one point in Waynes career, he too drove the #27 car.
Thanks to Randy Stallsworth for these magnificent photographs.
