I had never seen Charlie Jarzombek in person, but I had seen several times on television driving a (NASCAR ?) number 5 modified. The last time I had seen Charlie "J" was on television, he was racing his number 5 car, sadly that race would be a fatal race for Charlie "J".

Thanks for those photos, Thomas, hadn't seen any of Charlie's cars in color before. Glad to see that someone restored one of them. He was one of the hot shoes at Riverhead Speedway on Long Island during the sixties. Here are photos of a couple more of Charles "Bunny" Jarzombek's cars including a '35-'36 Chevy coupe that was a popular car for the modified guys to build back then. These photos are from a couple of the Cavalcade of Auto Racing quarterlies that were published during that era. If you ever run across any of these on eBay or wherever, they are a good one to pick up. Filled with photos, mostly from the East Coast, but some from about everywhere. Both Englewood and Lakeside speedways in the Denver area have been covered in them as well.
