In this photo from 198?, Bruce Rhoades puts his fast little modified stocker through the south corner at Colorados Lakeside Speedway. Bruce was a consistant class "A" contender and in my 1985 CARC Program, dated July 14th, Bruce was holding down 5th place against some very strong competition, which included Rick Carelli, Bob Land, Darrell Taylor and Gary Land. Bruces family have always been heavily involved in racing and they are another family that I believe helped forge a solid foundation for the Colorado Automobile Racing Club. Warren Rhoades, Elwanda and Warren Jr. have all contributed many years of service to the racing community. Bruce runs a Christmas program every year which enables less fortunate families to to share in the joy of the holidays and beyond.

Thanks Rick, this is cool. This was 1981,my rookie year in the Modifieds which I won the Rookie of the year award. I purchased this car from Jeff Anderson, the car had also been owned by Mark Bilik & Don Carelli. Thanks to Rick Losh for the beautiful lettering job.

Bruce you've got part the ownership of your old coupe wrong. I owned it first in 1973, with Jim Moore driving it as the gold #93 5- window coupe. In 1974 I put the 3- window coupe on it and Ed Mailo drove it as the yellow-orange #29 for me. The color and numbers are the same as my present car. I sold it to Tony Malara in 1975 who put Don Carelli in it as the maroon #66. Don didn't own the car, and only drove it a couple of times. Tony kept the car at Rocco Pantano's garage with Butch Snow's car. Tony sold it to Mark Bilick in early 1975, who then put Ed Mailo back in the car and renumbered it #29. Harry Stone also drove the car for Mark as the orange #40. Mark sold the car to Jeff Anderson. I still have the original frame that was under it. Last I heard Leonard Seurer had the body. I don't know what happened to it after that.

Sorry Chris,
I had forgot that you were one of the owners of that great little 3 window. I always loved that body as it looked much different being a Chevy & a 3 window.

Rick and Bruce, yes I'm still around. I retired from the City of Denver 3 years ago. I don't get to the races very often, but I still halfway try to keep up with whats happening. Bruce, I know about your multilpe championships . I always knew you had what it takes and you're proved it. Contratulations sir. Rick, you are such a talented artist I'm lucky to have had you perform your magic on some of my cars. In my very humble opinion one the most beautiful works you did was on the red coupe of Pat Petrie's in 1972. The black and silver numbers with kind of translucent shading was amazing. i'll give you a call soon.
