Back when "Open Wheel Magazine" was a specialty publication, before it went monthly, it had a feature on racing photographer, Jim Chini. This was in the 4th ever issue, August 1981, of Open Wheel. Here's our own Larry Dunham the subject of one of Jim Chini's amazing photo's. I've seen this before, and Larry used it on the cover of one of his midget annuals that he published in the 1950's.
What a photo, looks like Larry is ducking for impact!!

Wow!! That's a great shot. Not only open wheel, but with open cockpit. Somewhere around that time period, someone must have thought roll bars!

Larry shot me an email, with a little more detail about this shot.

Hi Mitch

I think I told you that Don Edmunds(my good racing friend ) got me upside down on the last turn of the
first lap of the 100 lapper. I had fast time and he had 2nd quick. They flipped a disc and fast time started in front. I was leading, and he went in too hard on the outside, spun in front of me,I went over him and flipped 5 times. The Photo was taken by Pace photos of Downey Calif .I was in my neighbors #22 car.
