Hello, everybody!
I'm Sonia and I'm from Russia, so, please, forgive my English.
Your website is great and I'm happy I've found it, as I've always wanted to learn more about racing history.
At the moment I'm trying to find any information about one photo (sorrrry, can't post links - nd.users.photofile.ru/photo/nd/2517638/140317429.jpg ) and I would appreciate it if you could help me. I'm not sure whether it's an appropriate forum for such kind of requests, but, if it is so, please, tell me where I should submit this thread.

Thank you a lot in advance! ;)

If I'm not mistaken, that is Chuck Arnold driving and his car owner, Wally Meskowski, exchanging pleasantries during the Hoosier Hundred at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.

Roughly translated, Chuck is saying, "Wally, the car is not handling well at all." (Ne Horosho to you, Sonia), and Wally is replying, "Really, Charles, I don't think you're trying hard enough."

Thank you, Olen! 8-)

bobjeffreson, glad you liked your trip! Such a cute picture! ;-) Red Square is definitely worth visiting and we have lots of other interesting places to see too. So if you come here another time I can arrange an unforgettable excursion.

indybigjohn, WOW! :jawdrop: You made my day!!! Thank you A LOT!

Hi Sonia,
Thank you for sending the great photo of driver and mechanic 'talking' to each other. When I've been in the racing pits around here, that is a common way of communicating. A world wide hand signal.

I hope you enjoy the Webb sight as much as we do. It is nice to read what people in other countries say about racing. Have you been involved in auto racing? I own the car on my avatar...The only time I was in it was when it was on jack stands and the body was off. I was covered in black paint when I got out. Then I miss judged the length to the floor and about landed on my head. Then my husband (lakeside 29) had me painting all the nuts and bolts under the car with silver paint. I just wash and wax it now.

Thank you for joining us on ARM.
A girl friend,
Miss Peggy

Sonia,
In total I spent 11 days in Russia, starting by arriving by train in St Petersburg from Helsinki. We then took the train to Novgorod, then another over-night train to Moscow. Tried to get to Kizhi on Lake Onega to see the two famous wooden Churches and buildings, however the weather beat us.

Sonia, I'm going to have to brush up on my Ruski. Been 50 years since I had to govorit in that language.

Indybigjohn, could that have been Chuck Booth? I looked up some old results stuff and show Booth at the Indy Fairgrounds on Sept. 07, 1968 in a #44, you were probably at that race, just curious.

You're right, Mitch. It was Chuck Booth driving for Wally. I've got that photo in my computer file. It's a classic.

Bob, you were lucky to be able to visit Russia. And I'm sure the train was the best way to travel. Don't see much from way up high.
