Wanted to see if anyone remembers Rob Greentree. He raced midgets in Indiana in the 60s and 70s. Thanks

Is this the Rob Greentree from Australia, by any chance?

Guessing your right Bob. This is from Ed Watson's USAC midget year book covering the 1968 season.
He was 40th in USAC national points that season. That's Denver's Dave Strickland Sr. preparing to jump into the #3, "Kincaid Barber Offy", Dave was 5th in national points that year.
From Watson book covering the 1969 season, he was 47th in driver points that year. The car was listed as the "Australia Offy" in the final standings.

That is Rob in the picture. I first met him in the 60s while he was working in Indianapolis for a pool builder. He was on the crew that built the pool at our home. My father was so impressed with Rob that he offered him a job with NRHA in Indianapolis. Is Rob still in the US or has he moved back to Australia?

Dredging through the grey matter. I see to recall Rob racing midgets in Sydney, then moving to Perth Western Australia. It was from Perth that he moved to the USA... I think??
Doing a bit of research down here and the latest info on Rob Greentree, is from fairly recent. It states that he living in the USA and his details are...
Here's a link to a Ken Coles photo of Rob at the Astro Dome Houston 1969....good looking midget as well.....
Race result from Sydney 1959...he mixed it with Tattersall...
"1959 saw the start of a new season and the beginning of a brand new era. A ‘Golden Era’ of midget racing. An era where Holdens and Offenhausers would dominate. The World Title in Sydney saw American Bob Tattersall (on his first Sydney visit) win and fellow local Sydney driver Rob Greentree 2nd."
And what about this for the kicker....Rob's a member of this Forum...
He says his favourite track was the Sydney Showground...that's where I 1st saw him race...oh... over 40 years ago...might have to go back and revisit the thread on this Forum.....

Thanks for the info on Rob. I will try to track him down. I know that Rob worked for Leroy Warriner before working for NRHA. Not sure when he retired from racing.
Yes, I do. Thanks for the post.
