Re: vintage stock car
Vern, the #1 is shaping up beautifully. Did you find the original car? The last time I saw #1 was in the early '70's, I think Chuck Ryder owned it. It was #72 by then, but it still had the 6 cylinder with a long header on the left side. Are you using a deuce frame and a 6 banger? Is the lettering Rick Losh's work? I'm looking forward to seeing the finished car. Keep up the good work.

Re: vintage stock car
Yeah, looking good! Out of the many rides that Wayne Stallsworth had, that was always a fave.
Randy Stallsworth once told me that at the beginning of the '66 season at Lakeside, that coupe was painted blue. Wayne flipped it, then had it repainted the reddish/orange. Wayne had a superstition about blue cars after that. Apparently, when he brought the car out the next week he hadn't told the crew of the color change, and at first, they thought some one had taken their space in the pits! Nice job, can't wait to see that one up close. Please post more pics of it! For those who've never seen the original, here is a little look: http://autoracingmemories.com/forums...pictureid=2583 (Eddie Biondi collection) |

Yeah! I'm also looking forward to seeing the finished product. Good looking car. There's a nice color photo of the blue version in RACEFAN 2's album.
