Re: The Dobbins #6 Sprint Car

What a treat. I saw this car run many times (thank you, Jimmy Voyles). I was probably there when many of the contemporary pictures were taken.

This post brings back great memories. Thank you.

Re: Midget racer buried in Lakeside parking lot?

Sounds like a Stephen King book, the midget comes back to haunt the track or something - sorta like "Christine". lol.

Re: Tim Richmonds 3-1

Somehow this configuration has escaped me - even with Tim being involved. Do you have any more history about the car?

Re: Bud Potter escapes sure death at Lakeside 1961

Good story. Can't say I blame him for wanting a bit more room.

Re: historic midget on EBay

Great history if verified. I remember a Michael Lang running USAC during that era (1993) with some success.

Re: Ivan (The Terrible) Baldwin

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Ivan Baldwin have something to to do with Ernie Irvan early in his career?

Re: WINCHESTER INDIANA

If you can, watch from the inside of the turns at Winchester. It's like nothing any place else.

Re: Indy, the month of May

An outstanding picture at Indianapolis. It's fascinating to look at how the suspensions are working through the corner. I've never seen a picture like it. Thanks for posting it.

Re: Sprint car legends

I recall Parnelli and The Fike car having some classic battles with Jim Hurtubise in the Sterling Plumbing car. As I remember, these were the guys that really made small block Chevy's the way to go...

Re: Sport cars, road course legends

The list goes on: 24 Hours of Daytona win and the 1970 Trans Am Championship. Oh, I almost forgot Parnelli's wins at Baja with Bill Stroppe. They are amazing guys.

Re: Garage Area, IMS, 1929

I miss the old garages at Indianapolis. The present ones look like some kind of bunker.
