George Bignotti passed away on Sept. 27th.
Nice story on indycar.com:

Re: Longhorn Racing LR-01 Indy Car For Sale
I remember this car. I went to Indy that year. I remember it having a hard time getting out of it's own way. The only person capable of qualifying that car was Big Al. Any one else would not have...

Re: Mini Stock Racing - 1970's & Beyond
My Dad was the Service Manager at Thoroughbred Datsun at the time when that #42 Datsun 510 was built. He helped build that one. I think Brad Bradford painted it. I got to see it when it was being...

Re: AJ Foyt outdrives them all!
What always impressed me about AJ was how he raced on dirt. He would dive in the turn, find his line and once in his line, that steering wheel barely moved. Everyone else was sawing the steering...

Re: Career ending crash
Eddie Jackson was always one of my favorites. What an odd, freak accident.
When he passed away I remember sheading more than a few tears.
Eddie was smooth out there. That's what I remember...

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway has a LOT of stuff in their archives. Check with the speedway. You can go to their web site. (indy500.com will get you there).

Re: Jim Rathmann
I just read a nice tribute to Jim Rathmann, on AJ Foyt's web site (www.ajfoytracing.com).
Some nice words and a couple of funny stories. Worth a look.

Re: Great Sprint Car Video!
Thanks Mitch. I have to agree. The winged sprints just look clumsy to me. The nonwinged cars, like these, just seem to dance out there.
Helps to have drivers who know how to dance too.
