Sprint cars today faster, not so much as you believe. A friend of mine has a sprint car world record he set in 1955 and still holds it. The fastest 50 miles in a sprint car race.

I got to know Walt when I was a young lad starting out in racing photography.That old man had some great stories, and taught me some neat stuff. On top of that , he was really good at what he did.

USAC Hall of Fame induction and vintage cars

I'm going to brag here about the book. Last year at Terre Haute, they had a USAC racers re-union.They had a copy of the book autographed by every driver there, something around 50.

Living in Indy, we know about the Gold and Glory. It was run at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. The PBS show is excellent, and worth watching.

Nice picture of the car on the Indy mile. On that night though it was the SECOND best Stapp car on the track. Some guy named Foyt bagged both of the twin 50's that night in a Stapp car.
