Re: thrill shows

Joie Chitwood's thrill shows ran a couple of times in the '60's at Intermountain Speedway, aka: BCS. I remember the two driving and the jumping the cars into some parked cars. Great shows!

Re: ARM's own Hall of Fame

What a great comment! Having spent over 20 years flagging at local tracks, I couldn't agree more. Racers and teams forget that without a team of officials to oversee the program, nobody would be...

Re: ARM's own Hall of Fame

I'm all for this HOF thing. But why national recognition? The are many local people who have done so much for the sport in this area, but they didn't receive any national focus.

I also think you...

Re: White Pants

White pants should be mandatory for all people in the pits other than the drivers. I always wore them and continue to wear them as a track official.

Here's another pet peeve of mine. I feel all...

Re: Sterling Colorado and Casper Wyoming

The Casper track is located north of town, near and east of the Events Center. I've been there a few times over the years. I believe the city owns the track and hires a group to run the races for...

As mentioned before, Kenny Clark had a green car and ran 13. He won many races and championships with that scheme. Darrell Stewart also ran a green car, a Vega wagon if I remember correctly. ...

Re: Intermountain Speedway

One of my fondest memories of Intermountain Speedway was the Joey Chitwood Thrill Shows. Yes, the same Joey Chitwood who was or still is part of the Indianapolis Speedway. They would bring the...

Re: Ghosts of Race Tracks gone by.

I like and dislike seeing the pics of closed tracks. The history that took place at those hallowed grounds is fascinating. I still dream of Lakeside coming back to life. I miss those hot summer...

Re: BOB LAND - The Two Minute Interview

I loved watching Bob race at BCS. Always a class act and a tough guy to get around. Thanks for the memories Bob.

Intermountain Speedway

Many are familar with Big Country Speedway. But long before, it was known as Intermountain Speedway. Racers would come from all over the tri-state area to run every Saturday night. The track was...

Former BCS Head Flagman

Hello everyone. My name is Dennis Ritts, and many of you know me as the longtime head flagman of BCS, as well as many of the other official's positions. For those who don't, here's a brief history....

Re: MM Action Photography Cheyenne

Folks, the time that Mike was taking pics at BCS, was a great time for the track. Lots of cars and lots of good racing. Mike did a hell of a job and it's unfortunate...
