Wayne Swanson - #7 CNS Bomber - Auto Racing Memories

Featured in this photo from the Jim and Terrell Sherwood collection, Wayne Swanson and his crew are photographed at Colorado National Speedway in Erie, CO. Wayne won the first ever bomber main driving this '65' Chevelle. Pictured left to right are his trustworthy crew: Bobby Swanson, Drew Wilson, Henry Hinkle, Wayne, Tim Smith and Johnna Ritter. I think that this car was part of the Rhoades family R and R racing team. If I am correct or not, our own Rapid 30, Bruce Rhoades can fill in the blanks for me. This all took place sometime in the 80's.

This was Wayno's first car, known as Betsy, Wayne had driven this one on the street before it became his racecar, Wayne went on to race with ERA and at Lakeside and after taking quite a few years off came back and won the 05 HPM & 06 CARC championships.
