Here's the start of an 1/8 scale 2011 USAC sprinter. I build all my cars from scratch.

Nice! So tell us about the materials you are using. Tires, bars, panels, etc.

Here's how she sits today. Needs paint and decals and she's race ready. It made with fiberglass for the tail, aluminum for the firewall, trailing arms and pan; the rest is styrene sheet or tube. Wild, huh?

Awsome work! How did you make the tires? I am working on a 1/16th scale short track car and will need to make my tires and wheels. Still do not know dirt or asphalt, wide 5 or what. Can"t wait to see yours when it's done!

Cur the correct dia. out of styrene then put in spacers to the right width and cover the tire tread with poster board and cut it out with an exacto knife. I've got another thread here under Dirt Late model and there are pictures of me making tires.

That's amazing. How many hours do you suppose you have in the project up to this point?

Thanks for the help with the tires! If I should choose to go asphalt I could still go the same way just leave off the cardboard. Since a stocker could have three the same size perhaps I should try some resin casting? Now just need the time. Will try and post some wip pictures.
