Default Paul's Model Racing Cars

Here are some of the model cars I built. I usually give them to the drivers or families of the drivers who drove them. Not big on the mega-details, but I just try to make them look like the original cars. Paul B.
This first one I built for Blu Plemons when he was inducted into the CARC Hall Of Fame in 2008.

This one I built for Bob Land. It's the Mike Barney #9 that he drove in 1969-70. Numbers were done by Scott Backman (who also did the Blu Plemons car).

This one I built for Don Wilson when he was a special guest at the High Plains Modifieds banquet. He subsequently paid me to build one for John Pachello. Numbers here were also done by Scotty Backman.

And this is my latest creation, built for Bob Harrington. I couldn't find a 3-window coupe body that wasn't chopped, but Bob didn't seem to care. Numbers were done by Rick Wasilko.

You've done a really good job of modeling the real ones.

Clean and uncluttered . . . This one's for you

"Stay tuned for the greatest spectacle in racing" ~ Sid Collins

LAKESIDE - Late at night by the old Lakeside Speedway, you can hear the ghosts - The barking, crackling "Flathead Fords", the zinging "Chevy Stove Bolt's", The rumbling of the "KK-Offy's", and the snarling "Ford V8-60's". Listen and faintly hear the announcer say, "Ladies and gentlemen, the line up for the trophy dash," and the place would erupt with the mix echoes of cheers and boo's...Remember...

Hey, Paul! Your models are very detailed and crisp. Didn't you build several models for Gene Corley...#89 coupe or whatever # coupe / sedan he was in at that moment? If so, I sure hope you have some photos to share with us. ~VB

Hi, Buzz! Actually, I've got a model of Gene Corley's #89 Champion Western car from 1968 ready to go except the graphics. Rick Wasilko was working on them when he went on to his final reword. That bucking bronco is tough to get the details on. I'll try to work on it with my software that I bought specifically for these projects. I still don't know how to work it. Thanks for the comments, though! Paul

Here's the #29 Sammy Gallo coupe I built for his daughter, Carol. She has to hide it from her brother, Sammy Lee, when he visits from California so he doesn't steal it!

And the #07 car that Glenda Bredeson commissioned me to build for Theron. It took a LONG time. Check out the chassis. . . I had to scratchbuild every single frame rail and piece of the roll cage individually. Quite a project, but boy it came out nice!

These are super-cool Paul. The only one I've seen was Blu's #4 on the old CRM. Great to see these others you've done. About a year or so ago I ran into Blu at a Mexican restaurant on 38th and he was talking about this cool little model you had made for him.
