Anderson Sprinter
Haven't been here for a while, due to serious Cancer issues.
Today I had the distinct pleasure of seeing the almost finished Johnny Anderson sprint car, that he brought to Australia in 1972. It was purchased by Australian legend Gary Rush and the rest is history. Whether or not it is the famous Fike Plumbing car seems to be a debatable matter of opinion, however it is certainly the Anderson car. Owner Bob Blacklaw has done an amazing job. The cage and wing are ready to bolt on and with some minor finishing touches to do, will make its public debut when it leads the field in the Australian Sprint Car Title in Sydney next January. |

Mitch,
Thanks for your concern. Cancer was removed by aggressive surgery on my stomach. I'm OK these days, or as good as I can be. It's better than the other option. Thanks again. Bob |

The car made an appearance today at Valvoline Raceway Sydney, with the man, sprint car legend Mr Bob Blacklaw, who spent 2 decades restoring it. It's 44 years ago the this car arrived in Australia and changed everything. Our old super modifieds were extinct overnight, thanks to Johnny Anderson.
