I've got to go back to what my dad used to tell me when I asked him about those races, and cars, seeing as he used to sit in the stands. He remembered the #1 car as dark blue and white, but he was not 100% sure, Giba's #62 was white with a purple scallop and numbers, the #3 Spicklers car, was gold. But these memories vary from one person to another. Dad used to remember the #62 Continental Airlines car as being dark blue with silver leaf numbers and letters, Leroy Byers told me one time the car was lighter blue with gold leaf. Maybe someone on here has more pinpoint info?

I lettered the replica K & L Continental car for Ron Leslie which now is on display at K & L's headquarters located on the north service road (I-70 east of Ward Road). It is painted a lighter blue metallic with white scallops and gold leaf lettering and numbers. Anyone can call or drop by to view his collection (which also includes the 777 Streamliner).
