Well, here I sit in my new house in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, my back yard empty's to a small pond where Eggrett and Pelicans land on a small island in the middle. Turtles the size of dinner plates crawl up to my back door, and alligators sun themselves on the shore line. I'm a 8 minute walk to the Atlantic Ocean. I paid the price. Christian Brothers moving and storage won our business for the move, they had a great price and used the same driver to get our stuff from Texas to FL. On moving day they show up with a 3 man crew and a 26 foot truck with a 12 foot trailer. We are skeptical but they swear they've done it before. 6 hours later the truck and trailer are full, half our stuff is in the garage and in the front yard. We call Christian Bros, explain our predicament, and our told "not our problem, but for another $4,000, they can get us another truck and driver. All hell breaks loose as you can imagine, me and Karen run to the nearest U-Haul, rent a 17' van, at 6 pm on Thursday. The 3 man crew loaded it for us, off the clock as they felt terrible. The driver of the crew said it was not the first time the estimator for job quotes, and put them in this position. The 3 man crew were great, the management at Christian Brothers is suspect, at best, and know will have the full weight and force of the largest law firm in Florida, come down on them like a ton of bricks, hope it was worth it to them. So I drove the U-Haul, Karen the kids, dogs, and cats, and a few remaining box's filled our Dodge Dakota, and off we went. We made Ponte Vedra by 7 pm on Saturday, kids gave me a awesome new book, "Old School, racing photography by Mike Arthur", truly fantastic book by the best racing photographer in the biz. I'm so tired I can barely keep my eyes' open, Oh and guess what? Christian Bros was supposed to have a crew in FL to unload, nope, just Tyrone the driver, so Tyrone me and Karen unloaded the 2 trucks and the trailer. I'm switching from beer to Vodka for this evening.
Thanks for the birthday wishes, sorry I was not able to respond earlier as we are still looking for my cell phone charger, and have yet to hook up the land line phones. Comcast got us back on line yesterday, Sunday the 3rd. Great to be back, thanks again ya'll!!!

Mitch,

Glad you survived the move and nice you are back on site. Actually your moving company went easy on you, no offense to anyone in the business but they are well known to fraud experts. Won't go into all the stuff but just be glad you are moved and have your things!
