It was great to see Buddy voted into the CARC Hall of Fame at last nights banquet, this was well deserved. It was also really cool to see Buddy's Mom Lois and Brother Scott, nephew Jeremy and his wife and Glenn and Marti Pennebaker all there to celebrate this great occasion.

Buddy was an inspiration. I've never seen a guy that was so determined to lead a normal life when he had so much adversity. I'm glad I had a chance to know him. I just guess he never believed he had disabilities.
Bruce, you and the whole R & R Racing team were good friends to Buddy and I'm sure that he appreciated your friendship and all the positive support you showed him. ![]() Chris Ertler - "professor coupe" |

I first met Buddy in the late '70's when I was working the parking lot at Englewood Speedway. There was this guy spinning donuts in the lot in a dark green (I think) Mustang and he was whipping up this big dirt tornado. I went over to see who it was, and it was Buddy! We became friends after that and later he came out to see my band play on numerous occasions. I remember a story Buddy once told me at the Stardust about a sponsor he once had that somehow didn't come up with the money he was promised. He went ahead and had the guy's name painted on the car.......but had it lettered on the drive shaft instead!! Buddy had a GREAT sense of humor and I loved watching him run at Lakeside. Congrats Buddy for making the CARC Hall of Fame, so richly deserved! R.I.P. |

Yes Jerry, Buddy drove a green Mustang back in the day, and yes the boy could shoot pool along with many other things.

Wow Jerry. Buddy Craig, 'Skunkie' with racecar, a super large trophy, plus a 'Ricky Mokel inspired' trophy-gal wearing go-go boots...and all in one photo! Man, it doesn't get any better than that. RIP Buddy, your past speaks very well of you. ~VB

Thank you everybody who brought this thread about. I was only a young kid when I knew Buddy. He was a great man who was loved by all. I remember at one time he either built, or started to build one of his cars in our garage. He also bought me and my brother our very first puppy. I was able to pass this on to my mom (Dee Holmes) and she was very grateful as she truly misses her dear friend. So again I thank you
