What a treat. I saw this car run many times (thank you, Jimmy Voyles). I was probably there when many of the contemporary pictures were taken.

This post brings back great memories. Thank you.

The blue car was the last Dobbins car, at least Dobbins is on the hood.

Amazing!!!! I was one of 200 Australians that attended that Sprint car meeting at the Indiana State Fairground Track in May of 1974.

We all stood in awe of Foyt from those two races, especially as I recall he started about 10 in one race and came out of the second corner about 2nd!!!!

That was also the night he changed a right rear tyre to another during a stoppage and just went through the field like butter through a knife.

What also amazed we Australians was the minimal wear on those tyres because of the make up of the track surface - not unlike a plasticine!!!!

And we'd never heard Chevy V8s sound like McCullough Chainsaw engines before!!!!
