You have no idea. A simple, "you're not allowed to be here, you have to leave" would have sufficed. I made an album on this site with a few pictures. Feel free to check them out. Will post the other tracks photos soon.

Longhorn Speedway: 1/4 Mile nearly flat paved oval, located in Pilots Knob, Texas. (South of Austin) opened in 1960 as Austin Speed-o-Rama. Operated as Longhorn Speedway until the late 1990's. Plans were made to re-open the facility in 2003 as Bad Boyz Speed-O-Rama, but it never came to be. This is how it sits Today. Currently in the parking lot for the farmers market.

Alamo Dragway: A sad sight, operated from 1973-2004. Full 1/4 mile dragstrip. Adjacent to San Antonio Speedway.

From what ive been able to find, just running out of money. the buildings that were there were no longer up to code and would have cost too much to repair (hence the failed re-opening) As of recent news, the track was purchased by Sandra Bullock for Jesse James in 2011, and once his affair was revealed, the track was sold to a real estate agency. and it sits in the back of a Latino farmers market parking lot today.

Nice work on Longhorn, unusual to see a track with armco (steel) guardrail, most use concrete walls. How close to Austin is the track?

The track is about 10 miles from the center of town, and about 1.5 miles south of the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.

As far as the Armco rail goes, my guess is that it was never updated since it was put in in 1960, I thought it was neat though.

Thanksgiving week me and my family are going to Atlanta (well, Austell) Georgia, so I think I have 2 tracks I want to go see while im in that area of the country. Middle Georgia Speedway near Macon I believe, and Columbia Speedway in South Carolina.

For some of yall that may be interested, this is a short video of what I do when im not track chasing.

Nothing to report here recently, haven't had the money to go to Dallas, and not sure if we are going to Atlanta for thanksgiving or not.
