Default Where are they?

I wanted to start this thread to find out where some of the drivers we grew up watching are at now. Dirvers like Randy Roberts, Dave Strickland Jr, Mike Opperman, Chuck Starr and the like. Any one who know what these drivers are up to please post.

And for those fans who also are wondering were a driver is at can ask here. Im sure some one might know and can fill you in.

Here's another, Gus Thomas #44

"Stay tuned for the greatest spectacle in racing" ~ Sid Collins

LAKESIDE - Late at night by the old Lakeside Speedway, you can hear the ghosts - The barking, crackling "Flathead Fords", the zinging "Chevy Stove Bolt's", The rumbling of the "KK-Offy's", and the snarling "Ford V8-60's". Listen and faintly hear the announcer say, "Ladies and gentlemen, the line up for the trophy dash," and the place would erupt with the mix echoes of cheers and boo's...Remember...

I saw Chuck Starr get upside down really hard in a midget at Rocky Mountain Speedway not long before the speedway closed, I don't think he raced again after that.

Randy Roberts was involved in a serious motorcycle accident in Wyoming that just about killed him.

Gus Thomas passed away about 10 or 12 years ago. He was quite a guy.

As far as I know, Dave Strickland Jr. is living in Englewood, or still in the Denver area. How about Billy and Vaughn Ager, Gene Palmer, some of those Englewood Speedway guys?

Mitch,on people search there is a Billy and a Vaughn Ager that lives in Calhan,Colorado which is just east of Colorado Springs. There are two Gene Palmers that live in Denver, one being 83 yrs old which could be his Dad.~Olen

Randy still lives in Broomfield and is doing pretty well, I see him once in a while, although his short term memory is not what it once was. I think that Chuck Starr is still running the transmission shop and I will see him later this month. Vaugn Ager passed away a couple of years ago and his nephew e-mailed me to let me know. As for the Palmers we can ask either Paul Bredenberg or Billy Kolb as for thier where abouts.
