its a studebaker...and yea...its really kool. Used to be a guy here in Colorado that ran a Study named Mike Wooley. It wasn't as pretty as this one....but between Mikes driven and the Studys handlin and 327 Chevy power plant, they kicked some butts.

Stude for sho! I remember Mike Wooley coming up to Lakeside (he was Colorado Springs) for the end-of-season Rocky Mountain Championship series and that Lark was flat DIALED IN! He took the fendered car championship! I remember the car being powered by an Avanti engine, though. Were they the same?

Not just any old Studebaker, but a Studebaker Hawk. I think the Hawk was one of the more interesting designs of the late 50's.

Mike Wooley did a stint in NASCAR working on Bobby Isaac's car when
he drove the K&K Dodge.

I think there was a rule that the body and engine had to come from the same manufacturer . So Mike called it an Avanti engine . I don't remember for sure if the Avanti used a 327 Chevy , but i wouldn't be surprised . I was told that the Lark was actually Mikes' mothers car before he turned it into a stock car .

Remember when Wooley brought the pink MOPAR to Century 21? I think that car was all NASCAR. However, I think it may have been a bit to heavy for 21. His success there was very limited.
