Default Alaskan midget racing

I am part of a group researching midget racing in Alaska during the 1950's. I'm looking for the names of drivers who traveled from the Northwest up to Alaksa in 1952, and the names of the tracks they raced at. Also, any information (cars and drivers) who were midget competitors at Rendezvous Speedway in Fairbanks.

Hey Kevin,
I'm of no help on Midget drivers who ran in Alaska in the '50's, but here is a couple of names of tracks listed in my "History of America's Speedways - Past & Present" (Dec. 1994 edition) that were around in the early '50's in that state. It's possible some Midget shows might have been ran at these tracks during that time. Don't know if this helps you any.

Golden Nugget Speedway - Anchorage - dirt oval, early '50's

North Star Speedway - Fairbanks - dirt oval, early '50's. It says that the location is now the Joy School.

Of course, Rendezvous Speedway in Fairbanks is listed, a 1/4 paved oval from 1953 - 1955.

I've found that the book isn't completely accurate (at least for some Colorado tracks), but this info might lead you in a direction to find a little more of what you're looking for. Hopefully the 'Midget experts' on this site might know more.
