My dear old friend Lee Fresquez (R.I.P.) of Cheyenne was quite the 'hound dog' back in his day (1959). Click on Lee's thumbnail photo to make it larger. ~VB

I was introducing the drivers with a microphone on the track and the situation cracked me up so that I had to shut off the mike. The photographer was the late Jack Gladbach. I think it is sufficient to just say Warren Mockler's mind was NOT on shaking hands with Linda Vaughn...
Seems like I used to have that exact same problem every year at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas. Linda used to tell all who would listen her story about where she put "Grumpy Bill" Jenkin's bald-head one day while at a drag race. Poor "Grumpy Bill," huh? ~VB

I don't know which I liked better...that drunken track mascot or all the trophy girls. ~VB

In the photo of Randy Roberts, the woman at the right of the picture, Sally Farrar, is my aunt. I spent many upon many a race night at numerous tracks watching Randy. I have not seen her or any of her family for some 10 to possibly 15 years due to a huge fall out between her and her brother, my father, and have been trying for a few years to contact either her or someone from her family. If any has any info about her please let me know. Thanks to everyone!

Back in the mid 1980s this trophy girl Lesley Bremmer??, seemed to be always popping up in Open Wheel magazine....not that I ever complained.
Allen looks to be enjoying the win.
