I thought that I would share a couple of photos of Larry, the #38 from 01 at the CARC picnic in Lochbouie, and Larry and Alice at the 06 CARC banquet.

Question Guys: When I was a young kid going to lakeside watching the coupes late 50s and 60s there was a coupe sponsored by a flower shop it had a pot of flowers bolted to the top of the car. I'm sure the car was #38
was that Larry McLaughlin?

Sorry 83x that wasn't Larry. That was Jack Capps in #38 at that time in the early 60's. You are right about the Flower pot, Jack was sponsored by Lehrer's Flowers, the flower pot was bolted to the top for a while, the CARC officials had jack move the flower pot to the rear deck in front of the rear window, there was a safety issue about the flower pot come off the car. Jack's previous Lakeside Stocker was a 1934 Ford, #38, sponsored by Krebs Auto Wrecking, Krebs was in that area on West Evans and south of the more visible wrecking yards.

Jack Capps and #38. From left to right, Carl, Jack Capps, Jack's dad Jimmy Capps, Larry Ginardi (not sure), unknown.

"Stay tuned for the greatest spectacle in racing" ~ Sid Collins

LAKESIDE - Late at night by the old Lakeside Speedway, you can hear the ghosts - The barking, crackling "Flathead Fords", the zinging "Chevy Stove Bolt's", The rumbling of the "KK-Offy's", and the snarling "Ford V8-60's". Listen and faintly hear the announcer say, "Ladies and gentlemen, the line up for the trophy dash," and the place would erupt with the mix echoes of cheers and boo's...Remember...

Next to Jack's Dad is Eddie Rockwell and next to him is Jack's Father in law
